Alex Disanti lives in the Texas Hill Country. While writing has been a lifelong love for her, A Separate Heaven is her first novel. Early works were mainly poetry and short stories. As A Separate Heaven progressed from thought to paper, friends and family began reading the manuscript. Then, in an effort to test the marketability of the material, she enlisted the aid of what she calls her “test readers.” It simply grew from there. Alex’s rich detail brought the characters to life, and the ensuing chapters could not come quickly enough for her readers.
Book One (first in a series of seven) will introduce Paige Hamilton and Dominic Gianelli to the literary world. Test readers, who now number greater than 1000, range in age from eighteen to ninety-one years of age and their occupations and cultural backgrounds vary as widely as their ages.
An exceedingly private individual, the most surprising thing for Alex, to date, has been that people feel they already know her once they’ve read the material. Some of the communications from readers have been very personal. “Some of the things that the characters experience are, evidently, relative to many people. I always enjoy hearing from readers. They are a constant source of support and encouragement and I’m very appreciative of their input.”
Books one, two and three are complete and are available on Kindle. Book one is available in print at Barnes & Nobles stores, Amazon and Book People (Austin, TX). Book four will be published on Kindle soon and books five through seven are underway.
